American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in San Bernadino, California.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring advanced certifications and night shift availability.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit
  • Unit has 14 L&D beds, 2 OR suites, and triage is conducted in the L&D area
  • Handles 3–4 births per day on average
  • Patients include laboring, inductions, cesareans, antepartum with complications, fetal demise, and triage for pregnancies of 20 weeks or greater
  • Nurses titrate drips including Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
  • Pulse oximetry and fetal monitoring (Fetal link with Cerner) routinely used
  • 12-hour night shifts with work every other weekend
  • Required to take 1 on-call shift every 2 weeks
  • Cerner EMR charting
  • RNs are responsible for L&D patient care including triage, inductions, cesareans, and antepartum management
  • Charge nurse is typically free from patient assignments and there is 1 OB Tech on the unit
  • OB / Neonatologist is on site 24 / 7
  • Scrubs are light blue and provided each shift
  • One-day unit orientation is provided
  • Holiday coverage includes 1 major and 2 minor holidays during assignment
  • Floating is not required for this position
  • Candidates must not have worked for CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year unless they were PRN via external agencies

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active, in-hand RN license for the state of assignment or Compact (NLC) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of current Labor & Delivery RN experience
  • Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • Experience titrating common obstetric medication drips required
  • References : One supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, with employment dates and eligibility for rehire
  • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
  • Must pass testing on dysrhythmia interpretation and sterile technique if required by facility
