This is a Full Time, 12-Hour Night Shift, position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla – Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. Additional pay differential of $7.10 / hour will apply to ECMO Night shifts.

We invite you to join Scripps Memorial La Jolla, a nationally recognized heart care leader. In the 29-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), our highly engaged Registered Nurses are part of a Model Care Team, focused on excellent standardized practices and evidence-based patient-centered care.
The ECMO Specialist and CVICU RN is a hybrid role. Focusing on ECMO patients, the ECMO Specialist will practice standards based on the ELSO Guidelines. They will work collaboratively with the ECMO Team including Physicians and Perfusionists. The ECMO Specialist RN is also engaged in the CVICU and provides patient care on shifts they are not assigned ECMO patients in order to maintain clinical proficiencies and patient management experience.
The CVICU specializes in caring for acute patients with a variety of disease states. As a destination center for higher level of cardiac care in Southern California, CVICU implements progressive programs and therapies. As a member of our team, you will gain experience in :
ECMO, LVAD, Impella, Tandem Heart, IABP, CRRT
The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his / her practice, focusing on Cardiac Diagnosis. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. They will work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
The ideal candidate will have two years of adult ICU experience with one year of ECMO experience. They will be committed to elevating their professional practice and seeks to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
