Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled MRI Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. This role involves operating MRI equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver accurate diagnostic evaluations.

Essential Functions :
- Perform MRI scans on patients according to established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the imaging process.
- Maintain and operate MRI equipment, performing routine checks and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and provide diagnostic evaluations.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in all procedures.
- Document patient information, imaging results, and any relevant medical history accurately.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of FDA safety standards, cardiac pacemakers, and other contraindicated items upon entering the magnetic field.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology and best practices in the field.
Requirements :
ARRT registry in MRI.BLS certification.Ability to perform DEXA preferred.Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required.Valid certification in MRI technology from an accredited program.Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic imaging.Experience or familiarity with additional imaging modalities such as CT, DEXA scan, or sonography is preferred.Proficient understanding of aseptic techniques and safety protocols in a clinical environment.Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations with attention to detail and accuracy. Weekly schedule will consist of (3) 10-hour shifts and (1) 6-hours shift, totaling a 36-hour work week. Will be required to work 1 : 6 weekend in rotation. May work other hours for the effective operation of the Radiology department.
