WHAT YOU’LL DO
Your work involves a combination of skills : Planning and laying out of work, repair of facilities, machines, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment; installation of new or transferred equipment; prescribed preventative maintenance on selected machines.
- Ability to troubleshoot NC and PLC Controls
- Assure machines, mechanical equipment (including hydraulic and pneumatic), electrical, electronic, and control equipment are repaired according to the manufacturer’s specifications
- Troubleshoot machines and equipment, including CNC machinery and manual machine tools
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Maintain preventive maintenance records
- Ensure facilities are in proper working order, including heating and cooling, plumbing, plant air, lighting, painting, general carpentry, etc.
- Recommend and coordinate the use of contract technical maintenance support
- Troubleshoot machines and equipment
- Plan and perform layout work using blueprints, drawings, schematics, and graphs when necessary
- Select and pull materials necessary to complete the work
- Initiate ordering of parts for machine, equipment, and facility repairs
- Use a variety of hand tools, maintenance tools, and test instruments
- Perform standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work
- Prepare written specifications for repairs and maintain records
- May perform minor welding, cutting, torching, and soldering tasks
- Must be able to attain and maintain a forklift license
- Lift and move heavy objects
- Keep maintenance department and work areas clean and orderly
- Responsible for completing work orders and reporting labor hours worked
- Contribute to cost reductions and productivity improvements
- Communicate any problems to the supervisor
YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
Industrial maintenance repair vocational training or certification from an accredited vocational instituteMinimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience is requiredMechanical, electrical, and electronic experience is preferredUnderstanding and working knowledge of CNC machines (lathes, mills, shapers, hobs, etc.)Working hands-on knowledge of PLCs and servo motor control systemsStrong facility maintenance experienceGood mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitudeAbility to read and comprehend detailed drawings, sketches, notes, blueprints, schematics, and graphsAbility to interpret written instructionsMust be flexible to perform a variety of assignments and adapt to changing conditionsMust be able to provide own basic maintenance and mechanic toolsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to work well with othersBENEFITS
