Engineering Technician

Seeking a Landfill QA Technician for a role with a growing environmental and engineering services firm. This field-based position involves construction quality assurance (CQA), material testing, and site inspection work at solid waste landfill sites. Ideal candidates will have mechanical aptitude, enjoy hands-on work outdoors, and be open to frequent travel with all expenses covered. U.S. Military Veterans, National Guardsmen, Reservists, and / or Military Spouses are encouraged to apply.

Pay Range : $22 – $25 / hour (Higher rates for landfill or CQA experience)

Earning Potential : Extensive Overtime Available (50+ hrs. / week common in summer)

Travel Required : Yes – with paid travel & lodging

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Company vehicle will not be provided.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

• Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities
• Perform CQA / CQC testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, and geosynthetic liners
• Conduct field inspections, soil compaction tests, and geosynthetics evaluations
• Operate and maintain testing equipment and ensure clean, organized workspaces
• Accurately report findings through digital and written reports submitted daily
• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and client representatives on project requirements
• Follow pre-task safety planning and report safety concerns immediately
• Assist with equipment calibration, material sample transport, and lab coordination
• Train progressively into greater responsibilities, including site leadership
