Department / Area

The Department of Statistics seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Statistics. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2026. The senior lecturer will be responsible for teaching three courses over the academic year, advising undergraduate senior theses, providing academic and career advice to students, coordinating undergraduate departmental events, and helping to administer the undergraduate curriculum. The position is for five years and renewable contingent upon review and approval of the divisional dean.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate or terminal degree in statistics or related discipline required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications

Senior Lecturers must have demonstrated an exceptional teaching record and meet one of the following criteria :

  • Demonstrated that they are exceptional teachers and have taught within the tenured associate or full professor ranks at a university or peer undergraduate institution, with a commensurate scholarly record. Or,
  • Demonstrated a record of national leadership in innovation in pedagogy, with outstanding promise of continuing contribution, and in addition are exceptional teachers.
