Position Summary
The Nursing Supervisor coordinates the activities of the hospital on evening / night / weekend shifts to maintain 24-hour nursing administrative coverage. The Nursing Supervisor supervises and directs nursing personnel and monitors staffing and skill mix for appropriate staffing levels in the absence of the Nursing Director. Serves as a clinical resource for the nursing staff, assisting with problem solving in determining interventions as appropriate for the patient age and clinical situation. Serves as a resource for Charge Nurses.
Minimum Education
Successful completion of the Nursing Diploma Program or an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Required Skills
Certifications / License
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of employment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of employment. Unencumbered Multistate or North Carolina RN License.
Minimum Work Experience
Experience and expertise in management either in front line or shift supervisory work. Recommend 2-3 years of recent experience in a healthcare setting.
