Description
As VP of Engineering, you’ll lead the technical strategy and execution for our AI-powered wellness platform—owning architecture, delivery, reliability, and security—while building a high-performing, people-first engineering organization. You will report directly to the CEO and partner closely with Product and GTM leaders to align engineering outcomes with revenue and customer impact.
Key Responsibilities
What you’ll do :
- Own the engineering strategy & roadmap to scale, including platform foundations, reliability / SLA management, and quality at speed.
- Build and lead a high-performing org (hiring, org design, leveling, career ladders, and performance management) across frontend, mobile, backend, data / ML, QA, DevOps / SRE, and security.
- Ship enterprise-grade features : SSO (Okta / Azure AD), HRIS / benefits integrations, admin tooling, global rollouts, reporting / ROI dashboards, and AI-powered user experiences.
- Raise the bar on platform engineering : multi-tenant architecture, privacy-by-design, observability, cost efficiency, and strong incident response / on-call practices.
- Institutionalize security & compliance (SOC 2, HIPAA) in partnership with our compliance vendor and internal stakeholders; champion secure SDLC, access controls, and audit readiness.
- Lead the execution engine : planning cadences, portfolio management, delivery forecasting, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration with Product / Design / Go-to-Market.
- Create an experiment & measurement culture with analytics and A / B testing; partner with Product and Data to translate outcomes (engagement, activation, retention, ROI) into roadmap priorities.
- Represent Engineering at the exec table, with crisp communication to the CEO / Board and enterprise customers when needed.
- Guide CI / CD, IaC, and secure DevOps; implement monitoring / alerting (CloudWatch / Datadog).

Availability & quality : >
99.9% uptime on core flows; p95 performance targets defined and met; material reduction in Sev-1 / 2 incidents.
Velocity & predictability : Delivery hit rate >
85% on quarterly commitments; cycle time, change failure rate, and MTTR trending down.
Enterprise readiness : SSO & key HRIS / benefits integrations GA with robust admin controls; security posture audited and airtight.
Data-driven product : Measurable lift in weekly active users and program completion rates; experimentation flywheel running.
Org built for scale : Eng team successfully recruited / onboarded to the next stage (e.g., 30–60+), with strong EM / TPM / Staff IC layer.
Requirements
Proven scale experience taking a B2B SaaS or health / HR tech platform from ~$30M to $100M+ ARR (or equivalent complexity), ideally with mobile + web user experiences.Executive-level leadership of 30–100+ engineers across multiple disciplines; excellence in hiring, org design, and coaching senior managers and Staff / Principal ICs.Deep platform chops : cloud-native (e.g., AWS), event-driven / services architectures, data platforms, CI / CD, observability, cost controls, and SRE fundamentals.Enterprise-grade mindset : SSO / SCIM, role-based access, audit / controls, data residency, and rigorous SLAs.Security & compliance fluency (SOC 2; HIPAA familiarity a plus) and a track record of building secure systems.AI / ML pragmatism : hands-on partnering with applied ML teams to ship reliable, compliant, measurable AI features.Product orientation : you care about outcomes, not just output; you’re comfortable with metrics, experimentation, and iterating quickly.Excellent communication with execs, customers, and cross-functional partners; strong judgment on build / buy, sequencing, and trade-offs.Why Join Us?
