Substance Abuse Social Worker (Hiring Immediately)

Position Summary

The Group Home Manager / Clinical Social Worker provides leadership and oversight of daily operations within the group home while ensuring compliance with state regulations, agency policies, and accreditation standards. This role combines administrative management with direct clinical services, offering supervision and support to staff, oversight of client care, and delivery of therapeutic interventions to youth in residence.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Client Care

Oversee daily group home operations, ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans in collaboration with the treatment team.

Provide direct clinical services, including assessments, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and discharge planning.

Monitor and document client progress in accordance with state, Medicaid, and agency requirements.

Collaborate with families, caseworkers, schools, and external providers to coordinate care and advocacy.

Staff Leadership & Supervision

Recruit, train, and supervise group home staff, including Youth Specialists and QMHS.

Provide clinical supervision, coaching, and support to ensure best practices in trauma-informed care and behavioral interventions.

Develop staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with staffing ratios.

Conduct performance evaluations, address performance concerns, and support professional development.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with OAC rules, CARF standards, and agency policies regarding care, supervision, and documentation.

Maintain records, incident reports, and logs in accordance with regulatory and agency requirements.

Participate in audits, inspections, and reviews; implement corrective action plans as needed.

Promote continuous quality improvement through staff training, policy updates, and program evaluation.

Administrative & Leadership Duties

Manage group home budgets, including petty cash, supplies, and program expenses.

Prepare reports for leadership, licensing, and board as requested.

Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and crisis management.

Represent the agency at community meetings, trainings, and professional development events.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, Master's Degree preferred.
• Active license as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or above in the state of Ohio.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health counseling
• Ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for mental health disorders
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal regulations
