Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville area)

Unit : Women's Services – Labor & Delivery

Assignment Type : Travel Nurse Contract

Start Date : November 3, 2025

End Date : February 2, 2026

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per month

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state

Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience

Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and supporting patient choice

Ability to promote vaginal birth opportunities and personalized care

Advanced skills such as Spinning Babies and STABLE certification preferred

Experience with CPN and Meditech clinical documentation systems a plus

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality care to laboring patients in a 9-bed L&D unit with 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED

Maintain patient ratios of 1 : 2 and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including 24 / 7 in-house midwives and CRNA

Perform advanced nursing procedures : circulating in OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), and nitrous oxide use

Float to mother / baby or other departments for clinical support as needed

Support couplet care and breastfeeding initiatives, including donor milk utilization

Accurately document patient care using CPN and Meditech systems

Help maintain patient experience scores above 75%
