• Hershey, PA Position Type : Hourly Sign-On Bonus : $4000 The Hershey Company West Hershey plant is a Union plant producing products such as White & Dark Paste, Kisses, Nuggets, Milk Bars, Almond Bars, Rolo & Syrup, in a high-speed complex environment.

• Starting Pay is $39.37 / hour .75 cent per hour shift differential for working 2nd or 3rd shift OT Potential! $4000 Sign-On Bonus! Manufacturing Incentive Plan (MIP) Eligible

• Shifts :
• We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
• Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs and will be discussed during the interview process.
• Candidate Process :
• Qualified applicants will need to successfully complete a mechanical written and hands-on skills assessment. Those receiving a passing score on both the written and hands-on mechanical skills assessment will advance to an onsite interview with the hiring team.
• Summary :
• The West Hershey Plant of The Hershey Company has immediate openings for Industrial Mechanical Technicians to work in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Primary duties of this position are mechanical troubleshooting and repair of production equipment. Responsibilities include mechanical installation, setup, and repair. Compensation is established on a skill-based pay system.
• Required background skills and minimum qualifications shall include :
• A minimum of three years experience in the industrial, military, or owner / operator trades environment
• The successful candidate must be able to effectively function in a fast-paced team environment
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Associates degree in related field or minimum of 3 years of hands on experience in a manufacturing environment of relevant military experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Must be flexible to work any shift
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Basic computer skills
• Job related mechanical skills will be assessed
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred
• Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is preferred
• Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferred
• Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology is preferred
• Experience with SAP Maintenance module is preferred
• Physical Demands :
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Regularly required to work around operating equipment, confined spaces, stand, reach, stoop, crawl, walk, climb ladders and bend
• Working Conditions :
• Work will be performed within a manufacturing facility
• The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses / goggles, bump caps, hair and beard nets, and gloves
• Wearing company issued uniforms is a requirement
