Commercial HVAC Service Technician

A leading HVAC service provider is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial HVAC Technician for a full-time, union-based role. This position offers long-term stability and is ideal for professionals who take pride in technical excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.

• Key Responsibilities
• Service, maintain, and repair :
• Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
• Rooftop units
• VRV / VRF systems
• Split systems and pumps
• Perform advanced diagnostics and root-cause troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and control systems
• Execute system start-ups, commissioning, and testing per manufacturer and client specifications
• Accurately document service activities including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance reports
• Coordinate with service management and clients to schedule and complete work efficiently
• Mentor junior technicians in safety, procedures, and technical skills
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service requests
• Maintain tools, vehicle, and equipment in professional working condition
• Adhere to all safety policies and union standards
• Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience (not residential)
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with air-cooled chillers and chiller start-up
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and controls
• Proficient in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and system documentation
• Skilled in using digital gauges, recovery systems, and diagnostic tools
• EPA Universal Certification (required)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in the field
• Must be willing to join the union if not already a member

This is a Permanent position based out of Westerville, OH.

• Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $115000.00 / yr.

This is an hourly paid role. Direct placement. $43-54 / hr depending on experience paid from union. ElitAire can pay $2-3 / hr on top of this for the right candidate.

Guaranteed raise of $4 / hr for the next 2 years. ElitAire pays fringe benefits on top of hourly pay.
