Addison Smith Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced Controls Systems Technician III to join our Controls & Building Automation Division. This senior-level role is responsible for installing, programming, integrating, and troubleshooting commercial and industrial building automation systems. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who thrives in a field-based environment, demonstrates leadership, and ensures systems operate safely, efficiently, and to design intent.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission control systems including DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, and networks.
• Diagnose and repair complex system issues involving controls hardware, software, and integration.
• Lead and mentor Controls Tech I and II team members to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, TCP / IP).
• Perform point-to-point testing, functional verification, and system commissioning.
• Generate reports, as-built drawings, and documentation for completed systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and customers to ensure project success.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
