Consumer Credit Officer #22167
Bishop & Company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Consumer Credit Officer for a leading financial institution in Honolulu. Under the direction of the Manager or Supervisor, this position is responsible for reviewing and rendering credit decisions on consumer loan products—particularly Home Equity Lines of Credit—while ensuring compliance with established lending policies, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documentation (income statements, tax returns, credit reports, property appraisals, etc.) to make sound credit decisions.
- Render credit decisions within individual lending authority and make recommendations for cases requiring higher-level approval.
- Maintain service quality and productivity standards by processing loans within established timeframes.
- Ensure lending decisions and processes comply with federal regulations, Fair Banking requirements, and Bank policies.
- Communicate lending decisions and requests for additional information promptly and professionally to branch personnel, customers, and internal partners.
- Stay current with updates to credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and consumer lending regulations.
- Support the overall credit process through accurate documentation, compliance awareness, and proactive collaboration with team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent work experience may substitute. An Associate degree in mortgage banking or financial services may substitute for up to two years of experience.Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in consumer lending, credit analysis, or a related financial role.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with automated underwriting systems and loan processing software.Strong analytical, research, and decision-making abilities.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Commitment to teamwork and customer service excellence.Knowledge of consumer finance and lending regulations.Additional Information :
