Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Manufacturing to oversee our vertically integrated aircraft manufacturing plant. This role includes oversight of material handling, machining, quality / inspection, inventory, assembly, and coatings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the latest in aerospace manufacturing techniques and equipment, design for manufacturability (DFM), process planning, team development, and plant layout design.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management : Provide strategic direction and leadership to the manufacturing team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Operational Oversight : Manage all aspects of the vertically integrated manufacturing plant, including material handling, machining, quality inspection, inventory, assembly, and coatings.
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) : Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure products are designed with manufacturability in mind, optimizing cost and production efficiency.
- Process Planning : Develop and implement detailed process plans for manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with company standards and goals.
- Plant Layout : Work with operations and engineering teams to design and optimize plant layouts, improving workflow and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
- Technology Integration : Utilize Siemens Opcenter, Tecnomatix, and Teamcenter to enhance manufacturing processes, production planning, and execution.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements, implementing robust quality control systems and processes.
- Team Development : Build and mentor a high-performing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Continuous Improvement : Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Health and Safety : Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Education : Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 12 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes, aircraft fastening systems, DFM, process planning, and plant layout design.Software Skills : Proficiency with Siemens Opcenter, Tecnomatix, and Teamcenter.Leadership Skills : Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.Problem-Solving : Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.Communication : Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Project Management : Experience in managing complex manufacturing projects from concept to completion.Preferred Qualifications
Previous involvement in FAA aircraft production, AS9100D, and IMS certification processes.Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies, including automation, IoT, and data analytics.Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.Experience working within Agile Development environments, especially Jira Agile Sprints and Issue Tracking.What We Offer
