Your Team responsibilities –
The Program Management organization acts as the nervous system of our new product delivery teams, taking ownership to drive success. Program Management drives the Engineering and MSCI values, bringing consistency on how we execute and connecting the dots within the organization and our external clients.
Within this group’s objective, the main goal of the Technical Program Manager for the MSCI Index business is that ensuring we are building the right solution to meet the needs of the product. Takes into account both tactical and strategic needs, as well as the larger initiatives across MSCI. Understand enough of the business, customer and technology to drive the right tradeoffs for the product. Owns the specifications used by development to produce the system changes required to build the product.
To succeed in this role, the candidate should have a strong technical background, with the ability to work directly with both internal and internal customer and engineering / IT developments teams. He or she should be a strategic thinker, with the ability to identify new ways of looking at problems and identifying opportunities. Excellent collaboration, communication and coordination skills are a must for this role.

Key Responsibilities
Work with the rest of the Technology organization, internal partners organizations (Index Product & Research) and external clients to provide technical feedback on product & feature definition, feasibility, scoping and developmentAssist in the definition of project scope and objectives, as well as solution architecture, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Perform analysis on moderately complex programs and systems, including driving end-to-end testingSuccessfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. Establish alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to programTrain partner teams on new tools and development techniques necessary to drive scalable product innovations, leading to strong customer adoption and revenue growthEvolve best practices for technical program management, serving as a role model by demonstrating vision, leadership, integrity and superior business and personal ethicsManage the relevant part of the portfolio of Index technology initiatives; understand and provide advice on the correlation among projects and their alignment with strategic goals.Your skills and experience that will help you excel –
Very good educational background, a University Undergraduate or master’s degree, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering; Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology and minimum 2 years of working experience in Program Management for Information Technology initiatives or a supervisory role in an IT department. Solid technical background with understanding and / or hands-on experience in application development. Experience with software change management cycles.Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plusExperience managing staff and directing project teams to complete requires tasks and activities. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Proficiency in managing project resources across multi-disciplinary teams, in particular Business, Operations and ITAbility to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audience. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and manage project milestones and reporting goals and objectives to provide timely feedback on progress and highlight constraintsIs self-driven and motivated – has the ability to be productive without significant supervision.
