Junior Process Controls Engineer – Florida

About Us

Co-Waves is a consultancy firm specializing in project planning, scheduling, and execution strategy—primarily serving the maritime industry. At Co-Waves, we believe in adaptability, collaboration, and finding the right rhythm – both technically and within teams—to help organizations turn challenges into strategic outcomes.

About The Role

We're seeking a Junior Project Controls Engineer to support one of our shipyard projects based in Port St. Joe, Florida. This is a full-time, on-site role suited for a recent engineering graduate or early-career professional looking to grow their skills in project execution support, data analysis, and scheduling systems.

You'll work closely with both the on-site team and remote project leads to turn real-world constraints into practical, well-sequenced plans. Site visits and day-to-day collaboration with the shipyard team will be a core part of the work.

About The Job

Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera P6

Help track progress and report updates to internal teams and external stakeholders

Support the evaluation of schedule risks, potential delays, and mitigation strategies

Participate in field visits to better understand how plans translate into execution

Compile data for schedule analysis, resource planning, and reporting

Document and organize schedule inputs, updates, and stakeholder feedback

About You

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another technical field, preferably related to Maritime or Construction

0–2 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or coordination (internships or co-op experiences welcome)

Strong technical thinking, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn

Comfort working with spreadsheets, schedules, and basic project tracking tools

Soft Skills

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Interest in problem-solving and continuous improvement

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Willingness to travel to project sites and adapt to dynamic environments

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software

Exposure to shipbuilding, offshore construction, or other large-scale industrial projects

Experience in data tracking, reporting, or technical documentation

At Co-Waves, you won't just follow schedules – you'll learn how to shape them. We work closely with our clients to understand their operational goals and uncover the real challenges behind project delays or inefficiencies. You'll be part of a small, supportive team that values ownership, learning, and impact. Whether you're early in your career or transitioning from another technical field, this role offers a unique opportunity to grow your project execution skills in a hands-on, real-world setting.
