About The Position

Outpatient Chemotherapy & Infusion Center – Heme / Onc Locums Opportunity

This role is fully outpatient, providing chemotherapy and infusion services as a solo physician. A midlevel provider supports patient flow, orders, and follow-ups.

No inpatient oncology services and no hospital consults required. Remote call only, with ER / hospitalist support for any admissions.

📅 Schedule / Availability

Coverage Needed : Dec 1–21 (more dates expected in 2026)

Hours : Mon–Thurs, 7 : 30 AM – 5 : 30 PM with night call

Fri–Sun : 24-hr remote call coverage

Location : Oxnard, CA (Outpatient clinic)

Setting : Chemotherapy / Infusion Center

FTE : 1.0

Duties : Diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, MD oversight of clinic + infusion center

Infusion Center Services : Chemo, immunotherapy, transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotics, RA injections, phlebotomies

Required Procedures : None

EMR : iKnowMed (clinic), Cerner (infusion)

Clinic RN (1), MAs (2)

Front office clerks (2)

Quality analyst / billing (1)

Infusion RNs (3)

Long-term NP (M–F 8–5), covers Friday infusions & occasional visits

📈 Additional Info

Average daily census : 15–21 (MD sees ~75% of visits)

Current call volume : ~5 calls / day

Reason for coverage : Current locum approaching 1 year

🧾 Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible : Hematology & Oncology (preferred)

Will consider candidates boarded in either Hematology or Oncology

State license : Required

Fellowship : Medical Oncology – Required

CA DEA, BLS, ACLS : Required

Malpractice : Highly preferred

Availability for name clear : Required
