Responsibilities : Supervision of

Central Sterile Processing Department staff to ensure proper

departmental flow in the decontamination, preparation,

sterilization and distribution of instrumentation to all

departments within the hospital that utilize surgical

instrumentation. Qualifications :

Education

H.S. Diploma or

General Education Degree (GED) Required

Completion of an accredited sterile processing or surgical

technology course. Online programs that do not offer hands on

instruction or experience will not be accepted Required

Work

Experience

5 years hands on experience

in the SPD department as a technician, coordinator or lead or

experience working in the surgical services environment Required

2 or more years of sterile processing or

related field supervisory experience Preferred

Licenses and

Certifications

Current certification

as a Sterile Processing Technician from one of the two

certification boards (IAHCSMM or CSPD) Required

Surgical Techs meeting minimum experience

must obtain certification within 1 year of assuming the position
