Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Freeport, Illinois 61032 (Illinois nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Acute Care - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 24 / 2025 - End : 2 / 23 / 2026) Shift : 12-hour day shifts, 7 : 00am - 4 : 30pm, with call rotation Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary : $2120 - $2270 Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Charting System : Meditech EMR Scrubs : Provided Orientation : 1-2 weeks with preceptor support PACU RN Job Requirements Active Illinois RN license (required for submission) Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred) Minimum 1 year of recent PACU nursing experience (2-5 years preferred; strong candidates with less experience considered) Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology, C-section, and podiatry cases is a plus Previous travel nurse experience preferred Proficient in reading cardiac strips Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes (required for Illinois healthcare jobs) PACU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the PACU, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery Monitor and assess post-anesthesia patients, ensuring safe recovery and prompt interventions Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1-2 : 1 Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) Float to pre-op holding room as needed (administer antibiotics, fluids, and assist with pre-op care) Collaborate with OR Charge RN and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes Participate in call rotation for weeknights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled Document all care provided using Meditech EMR system Apply now to join our healthcare team as a PACU Registered Nurse in Freeport, Illinois, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
