Rail Crew Team Lead
The Rail Crew Team Lead is responsible for assisting in the supervision of the rail team, while ensuring operation in accordance with WIN's compliance, safety, and operational policies and procedures. The Rail Crew Team Lead is responsible for providing direction to the rail team to ensure that all rail operations occur in a timely and safe manner, and in compliance with all federal and state regulations. The Rail Crew Team Lead can assist other operators and rail personnel by providing solutions to issues that may arise with daily operations. The Rail Crew Team Lead has the knowledge to spot areas of concern where a team member may not and acting upon that knowledge. This role is dedicated to the success of the team and the company through positive leadership and coaching. The Rail Crew Team Lead reports into the Rail Supervisor and assists with other activities as assigned.

- Facilitates the safe operation of Rail equipment in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.
- Conducts routine Rail equipment and track inspections and preventative maintenance on rail equipment, rail track and components, rail scale operation; maintains accurate records
- Follow the company's reporting policies and be the dedicated "first contact" in the event of an accident or injury in the field
- Ability and knowledge to execute the "Stop Work" and ensure all steps are followed with safety & compliance being a top priority
- Moves and positions Rail Cars using railcar moving equipment
- Has a strong understanding of day-to-day operations and can demonstrate to their peers how / when specific tasks are completed
- Provides positive guidance while coaching other Rail personnel throughout the day
- Follows appropriate standard operating procedures as a guide for operating and maintaining Rail equipment
- Can explain and physically demonstrate the operating procedures to new or less experienced operators with a clear understanding of the Rail safety policies / rules required by the company
- Create and maintain lines of communication between the Rail Supervisor and front-line employees to ensure a clear message is delivered while also notifying the Rail Supervisor / Operations Supervisor of any issues / questions that may arise in the field
- Rail crew lead will be required to complete Rail safe training and Industrial track inspection training annually. (Along with any monthly / yearly training required by WIN Waste Innovations)
- Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that cooperation occurs with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.

Daily Tasks Include
Maintain switches, rail joints, crossings, derailers, and clearance pointsOversee railyard - picking litter, walking conditions, cleaning waterways, litter fenceMaintain parts storage areasAssisting with locomotive maintenanceInspect and maintain dust suppression system for transfer building dailyComplete rail car inventory in an accurate and timely mannerDaily rail car inspectionsMaintain signage in and around the rail yard / transfer building.Ensure the tracks are passable for CUOH dailyEnsure proper switch alignment and clearance before any movement on the tracks.Ensure rail safe communications and rules are being followedPhysical Demands Include, But Are Not Limited To :
Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skillsReach with hands and armsClimb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feetAscend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders as part of normal work activity and emergency egress situations.Lift moderate to heavy material 50 lbs. Move about all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, wet and muddy areas, and uneven surfaces.Operate other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other equipmentAbility to quickly and effectively respond to unusual conditions or situationsAbility to work in all weather conditions.Perform additional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED.Knowledge of basic computer skills and Microsoft Office3 years of experience working with rail, landfill, or waste operationsAbility to pass Rail Safe training during their first 90 days of employmentPreferred Qualifications :
