AeroSpec, Inc., the Southwest’s largest automation system developer, is seeking a Field Support Engineer to work closely with our factory engineering teams and support automation systems at customer sites around the world.
This is a unique opportunity to gain deep experience with robotics, vision systems, PLCs, and PC-based automation while building the foundation for a future engineering career.
What You’ll Do On-Site Support – Travel to customer facilities worldwide (approx. 30-50%) to install, align, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic, vision, and automation equipment.
Hands-On Technical Work – Perform mechanical assembly, wiring, alignment, calibration, and equipment testing using meters, gauges, and precision measurement tools.
Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve technical issues on complex automation systems under tight deadlines.
Customer Interaction – Serve as the face of AeroSpec in the field, providing training, guidance, and support to customer teams.
Collaboration – Work hand-in-hand with factory engineering teams who will provide training and mentorship, preparing you for future opportunities to move into development engineering roles.
Documentation – Follow technical procedures, complete service reports, and maintain accurate records of work performed.
What We’re Looking For Education – A 2-year or 4-year technical degree preferred but not required.
Equivalent hands-on experience also valued.
Experience – Minimum of 2 years of technical, hands-on work in a panel shop or machine shop or as a technician in a factory environment.
Skills & Knowledge – Mechanical assembly, alignment, and troubleshooting.
Wiring, electrical testing, and use of meters and measurement equipment.
Ability to follow technical procedures and safety standards.
Some direct experience with robotics and automation equipment.
Nice-to-Have – PLC knowledge (RSLogix / Studio 5000).
Fanuc Robot training or experience.
Machine Vision experience.
Program or automation equipment troubleshooting.
Lead or supervisory experience. Attributes – Strong customer-facing skills, ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to travel frequently (50%).
