Position Summary
The Server takes the lead in creating an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests. Working in the front of the house (the dining room), the Server answers questions about the menu, takes food and drink orders, delivering the meal and removing dinnerware from the table in a timely manner. The Server is also responsible for the preset and continued cleanliness of the dining room and service areas.
Essential Functions
Before, Between and After Dining Hours
Ensure dining room and service area is cleaned per procedure and free of debrisEnsure ample supply of flatware is clean and placed according to expectationsReview the days menu and speak with chef / sous chefs regarding interesting information regarding foods offeredKnow the residents diets and likes and dislikesEnsure the dishes and dish area are cleanedDuring Dining Hours
Welcome and greet residents and guestsCommunicate daily specials and any menu changesTake food and beverage orders from residents and guests, and communicate their order to the chef / sous chef for preparationMonitor resident and guest dining experience to ensure we have exceeded their expectationsSuccessful Behavioral Attributes at Oxford Senior Living

Previous experience in a customer service related rolePreferred Qualifications
Experience working in a food service environment, preferably as a server or hostExperience working in a senior living communityPhysical Working Requirements
Able to do occasional lifting of up to 50 poundsRepetitive walking, bending, and squattingAble to work flexible schedule, including evenings and / or weekendsTeam Member is subject to outside environment conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change
