Chief Underwriting Officer

A company is looking for a Chief Underwriting Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall commercial auto underwriting function, including production, guidelines, and team management

Drive portfolio optimization through technical underwriting, pricing strategies, and risk management initiatives

Oversee new product development and ensure compliance with underwriting governance and controls

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 15 years of insurance product and underwriting experience, with at least 5 years in commercial auto insurance

Experience in leading and developing teams, with a focus on growth and profitability

Thorough understanding of state regulations governing commercial auto policies

BA / BS degree or equivalent experience; professional designation (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred

Proficient in underwriting and data software / analysis tools
