Information about This Engagement :

This is a hybrid contract role in Minneapolis, MN. Due to client requirements, only U.S. Citizens will be considered. Candidates must reside in the greater Minneapolis / St. Paul area. No visa sponsorships, STEM / OPT programs, or subcontracting arrangements will be supported.

About the Opportunity

VALERE is seeking a Data Architect Lead for our client. This role will provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions using AWS technologies. You will lead a team of data engineers, developers, and analysts within the our client program while providing hands-on data engineering support as needed. The ideal candidate brings a deep technical background in data architecture, design, and development—along with strong collaboration and communication skills.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data engineers, developers, and analysts.
  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and data storage solutions using AWS services such as Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, Glue, and Lambda.
  • Oversee large-scale data migration initiatives, including migrations from legacy systems like Oracle and DB2.
  • Develop and implement architectural design patterns and data solutions across multiple enterprise platforms.
  • Manage data within AWS GovCloud environments ensuring compliance and security standards are met.
  • Lead efforts in data mapping, ETL / ELT frameworks, and streaming data processing.
  • Establish and enforce database management best practices.
  • Communicate solution options, risks, and recommendations effectively to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of projects and ongoing data operations.

    • What You Bring

  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines and data storage using AWS technologies (Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda) : 10+ years
  • Experience with data migration for large programs (e.g., migrating from Oracle, DB2) : 5+ years
  • Expertise in enterprise-level data architecture and solution design across multiple platforms
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud data management
  • Experience in data mapping, ETL / ELT frameworks, and streaming data processing
  • Proficiency in database management best practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
