Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Dayton, Ohio 45409 Healthcare Setting : Cardiac Stepdown / Pulmonary Unit Employment Type : Travel RN Contract Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 1 / 2025 – End : 3 / 2 / 2026) Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) Shifts per week : 4 Weekly Hours : 36 or 48 hours (OT paid after 48 hours for 48-hour contracts) Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday required Patient Ratios : Target 1 : 4, may flex to 1 : 5-6 Unit Model : Team nursing (2 RNs PCT) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1950 - $2000 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (any state); compact nursing license accepted Minimum 1.5 years of recent Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience (ICU experience does not substitute) Experience managing patient ratios of 1 : 5 in Stepdown / PCU settings BLS and ACLS certifications required Must pass online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to start Ventilator management experience required EPIC EMR charting experience preferred Travel nursing experience preferred Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips Must be fitted for N95 mask (or PAPR if needed) before working on HRRU unit Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Ability to float to other healthcare campuses within 15 miles as needed Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions (COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, post-COVID, DKA) Manage ventilated patients, provide tracheostomy care, and administer bipap / high-flow oxygen therapy Administer and monitor cardiac drips, heparin, insulin, and other IV therapies Interpret and respond to cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, etc.) Participate in team nursing model, working with another RN and PCT to optimize patient outcomes Float to other units or campuses as assigned, supporting nursing care teams across the Dayton healthcare network Document patient care using EPIC EMR system Maintain strict infection control and isolation precautions Utilize specialized equipment (golvo lift, hover mat, nurse iPhones, Hercules beds) Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse with strong Stepdown or PCU experience?
