Senior Category Manager

Based in Pittsburgh, PA, the Senior Category Manager is responsible for the development and execution of category strategies for the Power & Water Solutions (PWS) business unit, and handling of Emerging Market Categories.
In this role, your responsibilities will be :
- Establish and lead cross-functional teams for the development and execution of global category strategies. Stakeholder community includes Customer Service, Planning, Procurement, Proposal / Project teams, Hardware Engineering and Supplier Quality and Project Procurement teams.
- Analyze and improve established Key Performance Indicators and conduct comprehensive market, supplier, and spend analyses for assigned categories and regions, ensure Emerson maintains most competitive market position.
- Manage and lead strategic supplier relationships and performance improvements through regular supplier meetings, business reviews and Executive meetings within region.
- Develop, negotiate, and implement global supplier contracts
- Work collaboratively to directly support Integration Center supply chain and operational teams to ensure efficient and best cost access to and delivery of material within assigned categories (Enclosures, electronic connectivity, Packaging, Consumables and other localized items, etc.
- Work very closely with BU projects teams, planning team and the iCenter (including assembly / planning teams from Pittsburgh
- Collaborate cross-functionally across departments such as Operations, Technology, Product Marketing, Supply Chain, and Proposal / Projects, to support and identify new areas of business need, savings opportunity, and process improvements.
- Actively identify and pursue opportunities for improvement in the supply chain via E-Sourcing
- Support local buyers and procurement managers to implement speed and flexibility programs i.e., consignment reduced lead times, supermarket, pull system.
- Organize and lead regular strategic suppliers' meetings and business reviews for assigned categories and suppliers
- Provide effective and responsive supports for both Proposal and Project Execution teams in the development of RFQs, supplier identification, category expertise, and sourcing methods
- Actively seek opportunities to create savings for the SYSS organization through various forms of sourcing and contract evaluation
