Medical Information Manager, Rare Diseases

We are currently seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals for the position of Medical Information Manager ,reporting to the Scientific Communications and Publications Lead within Medical Affairs – Global Rare Disease Business Unit.

This position is an important member of the Medical Affairs team who will Medical Affairs team who will manage the Medical Information function for all rare disease products. The qualified candidate will be responsible for managing, processing, escalating and responding to all medical information inquires according to processes, regulations and standards.

This role is preferably based in our office in Boston, MA or Cary, NC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and manage the Medical Information function within Scientific Communication and Publications, Medical Affairs, Global Rare Disease
• Manage reception, triage, escalation, and process of Medical Information Requests (MIRs) globally in US, Canada, and other countries for Chiesi Rare Disease products
• Manage and lead medical information call centers and medical information email boxes for receipt and processing of medical information inquiries
• Manage, run, and maintain the medical information management system for GRD Med Info
• Develop, maintain, manage, and review medical FAQs, Standard and Custom Medical Information Response Letters
• Support the development and execution of the strategic scientific communication plans for Chiesi Rare Diseases products, including congress planning, booth development and management, scientific platforms and other scientific communication materials. Support medical information booth and scientific insight gathering at congresses
• Provide insights and metrics from global medical information activities for Global Rare Disease
• Responsible for managing the Medical Review Board (MRB) for all medical Affairs materials review and approval within process and system. Provide support with the review and approval medical affairs materials
• Support and contribute to ad hoc Medical Affairs strategy, planning initiatives and activities. Participate in ad-hoc communication initiatives that support the medical affairs strategy
• Participate in the development and growth of the scientific communications/publications function and medical affairs. Contribute to long-range planning, manage project plans, budgets, vendor oversight, business process management, systems optimization and document repositories
• Manage and administer the scientific medical affairs library within Medical Affairs systems
• Provide Medical Affairs team with knowledge and intelligence from scientific congresses, and the literature.
• Develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships; Represent Chiesi at meetings and conferences, in interactions with KOLs and in collaboration with other functions.
• Manage multiple priorities with great attention to detail and a sense of urgency

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• PharmD or PhD with 4-6 years of medical information and medical affairs experience which may also include safety, regulatory, publications, and scientific communications
• Effective written and spoken communication skills in combination with the ability to critically analyze and summarize scientific data
• Project planning and organizational skills
• Knowledge of relevant medical information standards and regulations worldwide
• Knowledge of medical information tools and systems
• Experience with medical information call centers
• Member of DIA preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships (internal and external)
• Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries
• Prior experience working on a launch product and in rare disease is preferred
