Elementary Classroom Teacher

Indy West Christian School is seeking an Elementary Classroom Teacher who is passionate about Christ-centered education and committed to academic excellence. The ideal candidate will prayerfully support students' spiritual, academic, and personal growth while partnering with families and colleagues in a faith-based learning community.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in education)
• Valid state teaching certification and ACSI certification
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administration, and families

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Active member of an evangelical church.
• Evidence of spiritual maturity and a clear Christian testimony
• Person of integrity who exhibits the fruit of the Spirit in actions and speech
• Commitment to the school's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement.
• Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, and a positive attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide Christ-centered instruction aligned with curriculum standards
• Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Maintain effective classroom management and implement school-wide expectations
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events
• Fulfill non-instructional duties (e.g., lunch duty, car line)
• Obtain and maintain ACSI certification within the first year of employment
• Follow biblical principles, including Matthew 18, in all relationships

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing.
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to traverse school facilities and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
