Application Engineer Medium Voltage Pad Mounted Switchgear Proposals (West)

Siemens is looking for an Application Engineer to join our Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit in Livermore, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for Pad Mounted Switchgear, Gas Insulated Switchgear, and MV Metal Enclosed Air?Insulated Switchgear.
• Review customer specifications, commercial and technical documents, and product requirements.
• Define preliminary scope of work and develop layout and single?line drawings.
• Collaborate with internal engineers to generate technical solutions for the Siemens / Trayer product suite.
• Prepare RFQ packages for third?party products and work closely with Procurement to secure quotations.
• Evaluate quotations, recommend design and vendor choices, and develop cost models using product configurators.
• Prepare customer?facing proposals and engage in pre?sales discussions with Regional Sales Managers, customers, and channel partners.
• Negotiate and secure contracts and hand over projects from Bid to Project Execution with the PMO team.
• Conduct product demonstrations and on?site training sessions when required.
