Position : Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SolidWorks, Sheet Metal design, and 3D / 2D modelling & assembly design, with proven experience managing complex design projects. Experience with EPDM / Vault systems and exposure to international projects will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design activities for sheet metal, assemblies, and fabricated components using SolidWorks.
  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing, ensuring adherence to industry and company standards.
  • Handle design reviews, tolerance analysis, BOM creation, and change management.
  • Manage and maintain design data within EPDM / Vault systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, project management) to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices and design standards.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / master's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • 8 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with emphasis on Sheet Metal design and SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience in 3D modelling, 2D drafting, and assembly design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks PDM / EPDM or Vault for design data management.
  • Ability to handle complex design projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    • Preferred / Added Advantage

  • Experience working with US-based clients / projects.
  • Indian Origin H1B Visa Holder / US Visa (valid / previous travel experience will be an advantage).
  • Exposure to international standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO).
