About The Position

Escape the fast-paced hustle and rediscover the heart of medicine in  Emporia, VA , a welcoming rural community in Southern Virginia! We’re seeking a  Board Certified / Board Eligible Family Medicine / Internal Medicine Physician  for a  locum tenens  assignment from  December 2025 through mid-January 2026 .

Earn  $190 / hr , with  comprehensive malpractice coverage ,  paid travel , and  complimentary lodging  – all while providing essential care in a well-equipped primary care clinic.

📍 Location :  Emporia, VA

🗓 Assignment Dates :  December 2025 – Mid-January 2026

💵 Pay Rate : $160 / hour - $170 / hour

🏥 Setting :  Outpatient Primary Care in a rotating specialty practice

📆 Schedule :  3x 8-hour shifts per week

🚨 Call :  None

🏡 Travel & Lodging :  Paid travel + complimentary lodging

📄 EMR :  Epic

🧪 Onsite Services :  Labs, POC testing, Phlebotomy

🧍‍♂️ Patients per Day :  Approx. 20

👩‍⚕️ Support :  No mid-levels; possible virtual physician support

Your Responsibilities :

Deliver compassionate care to a broad patient population – adults, pediatrics, newborns, and geriatrics

Perform routine procedures : suturing minor lacerations, I&D, pelvic exams / pap smears (optional)

No inpatient, ED backup, or code responsibilities

Requirements :

Board Certified / Board Eligible  in Family Medicine / Internal Medicine

Active VA license

Current BLS certification

Able to start by  December 2025
