ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN

DEPARTMENT : Environmental Health

HIRING RANGE $21.09-$23.43 / hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK : Monday 8 - 5 p.m.; Tuesday - Friday 8 - 4 p.m.

JOB SUMMARY :

Responsible for providing clerical support, entering data, researching information, and assisting the public by issuing various permits and serving as front line staff for Environmental Health.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

• High school graduate or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and scanning
• Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate / hostile individuals
• Excellent organizational and communications skills and a sound knowledge of office p rocedures / practices
• Pre-employment background check
