  • A food production scheduler is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire food production process within a manufacturing or processing facility. Their primary goal is to ensure efficient operations and the production of high-quality food products while adhering to food safety regulations and meeting production targets. The common responsibilities and qualifications for a food production scheduler :

    Responsibilities :

    • Planning and organizing production schedules to meet forecasted demand and production targets.
    • Developing and implementing production strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity.
    • Managing and supervising production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
    • Monitoring and controlling production costs to achieve budget targets.
    • Ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
    • Collaborating with other departments, such as quality control, maintenance, and procurement, to coordinate production activities and resolve any issues.
    • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
    • Maintaining accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
    • Monitoring and analyzing production performance metrics, such as yield, efficiency, and downtime, to identify areas for improvement.
    • Managing inventory levels and coordinating raw material procurement to maintain uninterrupted production.
    • Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a related field. A master's degree may be preferred for some positions.
    • Extensive experience in food production or manufacturing, with a proven track record of managing production operations.
    • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
    • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment used in the food industry.
    • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for production planning and analysis.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
