Description :

The Community-Based Trauma Clinician works under the Assistant Director (AD) of Trauma Services within LUK’s BHS Division. This position provides individual and group counseling to youth and caregivers in their homes, other appropriate settings, LUK BHS Clinics, and virtually as needed. This position will receive weekly licensed supervision, regular training, and opportunities for clinical group supervision and consultation. With the youth, family, and Care Coordinator, this position assists with the development of goals for an Individualized Action Plan. Ratings on progress toward these goals as well as discharge planning and implementation are expected. This position will work on a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements :

Responsibilities Include :

  • Work closely with the youth, family, and Care Coordinator to develop and deliver integrated treatment
  • Provide individual and group counseling and family support with children, youth, and caregivers in a home-based setting
  • Perform intake interviews, as well as investigating histories with appropriate collateral resources
  • Complete a comprehensive assessment that builds from a family’s perception of its most salient concerns and identification of its strengths, desires, and needs to support youth’s continued tenure and participation in the community
  • Recognize and acknowledge parent and youth voice and choice, partnering with them and team members in the development of an Individual Action Plan, developing goals, monitoring services, and evaluating progress
  • Psychoeducation for the youth and family
  • Family treatment and support interventions that are designed to teach skills and competencies that assist the youth and family to overcome challenges
  • Provide crisis management and intervention as appropriate
  • Facilitate discharge planning for youth and families including aftercare, when appropriate
  • Attend all division and team meetings as well as agency trainings as scheduled
  • Facilitate / assist with psychoeducational groups for youth and families
  • Facilitate / assist with parent educational opportunities for families
  • Maintain certification in evidence-based models to work with youth and families (e.g., (ARC Grow)
  • Assist with internal reports and reports for the program funder
  • Demonstrate a commitment to LUK’s Mission, Vision, and Values and provide congruent services

Knowledge and Experience Required :

  • Master’s degree in mental health, psychology, social work, family therapy, or substance abuse counseling
  • 2+ years working with youth who have experienced trauma and their families
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based trauma treatments
  • A demonstrated commitment to the empowerment of youth and families to realize their potential
  • Ability to incorporate the agency philosophy of systemic thinking
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively on a team
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships

    Salary Range and Benefits :

    Independently licensed clinician – Pay Grade : 8A. Salary Range : $71,000 – $82,500.

    Non-licensed or license eligible clinician – Pay Grade : 8B. Salary Range : $66,000 – $77,500.

    Salary ranges within each pay grade are based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
