Lead Marketing and Public Relations Specialist Job at Modern Technology Solution

PM UAS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marketing and Public Relations Specialist to join our Communications team. This role is critical in shaping and communicating our organization's message within the Department of Defense and to external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of military operations, defense policy, and the unique communication needs of the DoD.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to boost Soldier and End user engagement.
• Expert in Social Media Marketing and Media Engagement.
• Coordinate and manage public events, press conferences, and promotional activities related to defense initiatives and community engagement.
• Develop and implement strategic public relations initiatives that support the mission and objectives of the Department of Defense.
• Create and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials tailored for military and defense audiences.
• Build and maintain relationships with defense-related media outlets, journalists, and key influencers to secure coverage of organizational initiatives and events.
• Monitor media coverage and analyze public perception of the organization, providing insights to inform future PR strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including public affairs officers, to ensure consistent messaging across all communication platforms.
• Assist in crisis communication efforts, developing strategies to effectively manage and mitigate any negative publicity or misinformation.
• Track and report on PR metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives, providing recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• US citizenship and a secret level clearance is required.
• Experience in public relations, communications, or a similar role, preferably within a government or defense context.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with media professionals and defense stakeholders.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication strategies relevant to the defense sector.
• Knowledge of PR tools and software for monitoring and reporting.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, particularly in high‑stakes environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with or within the Department of Defense or related agencies.
• Understanding of military operations, defense policy, and the communication challenges specific to the DoD.
• Professional certifications (e.g., APR, PRSA) are a plus.
• Media engagement.
• Social Media Marketing.
