HR Benefits and Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist (Bilingual Spanish)
Location : Los Angeles, CA
Employment Type : Direct Hire | Full-Time
Salary : $72,000+ per year
About the Role :
We’re seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Benefits and Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-paced team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and English and have a strong background in benefits administration, compliance, and leave management. This position plays a key role in supporting employees and management across a variety of HR functions while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
Guide employees through benefits enrollment, life-event changes, and open enrollment.
Manage leave of absence cases (FMLA, PFL, disability, ADA accommodations, etc.) from start to finish.
Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding benefits and leave policies.
Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, and applicable state laws.
Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate deductions and leave pay.
Conduct benefits audits, maintain confidential records, and provide management reports.
Communicate with vendors and resolve claims or billing issues.
Assist in developing and updating HR policies and training related to benefits and leave programs.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 4 years of HR experience with a focus on benefits and LOA administration.
Strong understanding of HR practices, compliance, and benefits laws.
Bilingual (Spanish / English) required.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel locally between multiple sites (mileage reimbursement provided).
Professional, approachable, and detail-oriented demeanor.
