Shipping Clerk
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating freight and products to meet customer demands while maintaining internal inventory, accurate system data, and tracking requirements. Extensive use and understanding of internal and external PC systems is essential for this role.
Responsibilities :
- Review upcoming shipping requirements and research our ability to deliver products as requested.
- Inform customers on their websites about the truck space needed in advance of the actual shipping date to maintain accuracy and avoid chargebacks.
- Determine proper shipping container / pallet sizes needed to ship products without damage and calculate floor space needed for each customer.
- Inform dock and / or picking staff of required containers and other shipping instructions in advance.
- Print and write paperwork for outside vendor activities and forward them to the shipping dock.
- Develop pick lists and staging areas for pickers / dock staff to pull and stage.
- Review current inventory locations and schedules from OSV for returning products.
- Determine if products are domestic or international by Customer Codes and assign appropriate containers / skids.
- Print all required paperwork, including packing slips, bar codes, waybills, and any other necessary international documentation.
- Write OE Pack instructions outlining special shipping requirements as needed.
- Communicate with internal staff to act on blocked shipments and handle related issues.
- Process OSV paperwork to correctly place parts into inventory.
- Perform inventory transactions to receive parts into one location or transfer / combine parts into another.
- Conduct cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Essential Skills :
Prior experience in a shipping clerk or receiving clerk role in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.Experience monitoring and tracking inventory levels.Experience coordinating and communicating internally and externally regarding shipment updates.Proficiency in computer skills, including Email (Outlook) and Excel (formulas, opening tabs, adding / deleting columns / rows).Additional Skills & Qualifications :
Familiarity with Epicore software is an advantage.Steel-toed shoes are required prior to starting.Work Environment :
This position requires onsite work from Monday to Friday, from 5 am to 3 : 30 pm, with 10-hour shifts. There may also be potential 4-5 hour shifts on Saturdays, depending on business demands, which will be communicated in advance.

Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
