Job description

JOB REQUIREMENTS : Job Summary : Responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of all mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and refrigeration systems in Union South, Memorial Union and food service units across UW-Madison campus. Based on operation needs, employee may be assigned other facilities duties as required. Responsibilities : Installs, maintains, and repairs environmental control or refrigeration equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment within an assigned facility. May direct the work of other staff performing routine maintenance and repair functions. 20% Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, related equipment, and controls according to established policies and procedures 20% Receives, prioritizes, and responds to service requests according to established timelines and policies 20% Identifies, prioritizes, troubleshoots, and escalates system problems, equipment malfunctions, and repair needs 30% Performs scheduled preventative and routine maintenance and documents activity on equipment and systems to ensure optimal and safe operation 5% Develops and schedules operational work plans for staff occasionally 5% Works special events as required for operational needs Institutional Statement on Diversity : Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
