POSITION SUMMARY - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR

The Saw operator is responsible for handling the saw requirements for the plant, cutting raw material to specification. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment. This role works independently and is expected to be self-driven. The ability to read production drawings is important.

CURRENTLY AVAILABLE SHIFTS - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR

2nd shift : 2pm - 10 : 30pm Mon - Fri
3rd shift : 10pm - 6 : 30am Starting Sunday night through Friday morning.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR :

Set up and operate the automatic production saw to meet production needs.

Verification of conformance to specifications by reading blueprints and using tape measure, calipers, micrometers, or other tools.

Load raw material using a forklift, side loader, or overhead crane.

Must identify, store, stack, organize, and stage products.

Replace defective cutting blade or wheel and other preventative maintenance as required.

Completes and maintains paperwork on materials using basic computer applications.

Package finished goods using proper procedures and transport to the staging area.

Assists in other work areas as required, and applicable to skill set.

Keep an organized work area to maintain a productive and safe work environment.

Interact with production supervisors to communicate progress and take additional instruction.

REQUIREMENTS - SAW MACHINE OPERATOR

High School diploma or equivalent GED

1+ years of experience in heavy metal fabrication; saw operation preferred

Quality minded with a high mechanical aptitude

Ability to convert fractions to decimals and imperial measurements to metric

Ability to read and write English

Ability to stand or sit for long periods

Ability to lift 75 lbs

Ability to take ownership of work
