Responsibilities\n\nDeliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.\n
• Perform scrub function including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.\n
• Perform circulating function including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and\nmanaging overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.\n
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical task including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.\n
• Prepare operating room and surgical instruments and equipment for use. Requirements\n\nLicensure / Certification / Registration : \n
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.\n\nOne or more of the following required : \n
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.\n
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.\n\nEducation : \n
• Diploma from an accredited school / college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences\n
