Job Summary
- The Central Supply Tech is a support service for patient care that will count, deliver, and stock supplies that are needed for the inpatient nursing units, along with filling orders from the Materials warehouse, stocking the Materials warehouse, and servicing supply carts used in the hospital, along with any other Materials related duties assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to work on your feet in a fast paced warehouse environmentLifting of heavy items can be required at times, 25lbs to 40lbs
Answer calls and assist departments with their supply needsCount inventory in par shelf locations to adequately restock storage areasProperly issue out and charge supplies to departmentsRestock products on the shelves in Central Supply warehouseRestock crash cartsSticker supplies with barcoded charge labelsDo after hours and weekend courier runs as neededParticipate in weekly cycle counts in Central Supply warehouseParticipate in Annual Inventory Counts conducted in the HospitalProperly remove / dispose of expired / recalled products from inventoryAssist other areas within department as neededMust conduct oneself in a professional and mature manner and work at times unsupervisedOther duties as assignedQualifications
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications
Experience with medical supplies is a plusMinimum Requirements
Must be able to read and write and understand written and verbal communication.Must have some computer / ipad knowledge.Must be 21 or olderMust have a valid Mississippi Drivers LicenseMust have clean driving record and be insurable by the hospital’s vehicle liability policy.Working Conditions
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, pulling carts and buggies, and lifting of items 25lbs to 40lbs pounds. Central Supply Tech much be able to work on their feet in a fast-paced warehouse environment and handle the physical demands that come with the position.Day
