What You’ll Do
Perform a broad range of lab testing without direct supervision, including RT-qPCR procedures and high-complexity testingReceive, accession, and process biological specimens; solve specimen collection and processing issuesExecute and document quality control procedures and corrective actions per lab protocolsMaintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment as neededVerify and report accurate results in a timely manner using EMR and instrument software systemsComply with OSHA, CLIA, COLA, and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and accuracyMaintain inventory of reagents and lab supplies; ensure cost-effective utilizationParticipate in lab proficiency testing and continuous performance improvement initiativesWhat You Bring to the Role
Meets CLIA, CMS, and COLA requirements for high-complexity testing :Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology; ORAssociate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology; OREquivalent education / training including :60 semester hours including 24 hours in science / MLT coursework
At least 3 months documented lab training in each tested specialtyKnowledge of molecular laboratory techniques; RT-qPCR experience preferredStrong attention to detail and critical thinking skillsEffective communicator and collaborative team memberComfortable working 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidaysAble to lift up to 25 poundsINDmisc
