Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team serving the Pacific Northwest region. This role involves independently performing screening, diagnostic, and invasive breast imaging exams in alignment with established protocols to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases in adult and geriatric patients. The technologist exercises sound judgment in determining when additional imaging or radiologist consultation is necessary, while adhering to all regulatory and MQSA guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with safety and infection control standards.
- Conduct screening, diagnostic, and invasive breast exams following established procedures.
- Use independent judgment to decide on additional views or radiologist involvement.
- Ensure accurate billing and thorough documentation of all procedures.
- Enter exam-related data into departmental computer systems.
- Provide support to other clinical areas when not engaged in imaging tasks.
Qualifications
Documentation of at least 25 supervised mammograms from an accredited facility is required.Completion of 8 continuing education units in digital mammography is mandatory.Strong customer service skills are essential.Education
Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology Program, verified through licensure.Licenses and Certifications
California Registered Technologist Mammography (CRTM) license is required.American Radiologic Registry Technologist (ARRT) license must be obtained within 15 months of initial training.American Registry of Radiologic Technology Mammography (ARRTM) certification is preferred.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.Additional Information
