The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in network engineering, a strong understanding of DoD IT requirements, and proven leadership skills. The primary responsibility of this candidate is leading the program's enterprise network engineering services team on-site at our Network Operations Center, providing 24x7 monitoring of critical customer networks. You will oversee the deployment of managed services, workstations, and networks, ensuring compliance with DoD policies and security standards. • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for NOC / SOC monitoring, escalation, and resolution.
  • Analyze system performance and security metrics to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with the PMO team to align network engineering efforts with overall program objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standards.
  • Participate in the development and execution of governance processes
  • Conduct network performance monitoring and optimization to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure adherence to DoD security requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Develop procedures and processes for responding to network incidents and problems, coordinating resolution efforts to minimize service disruptions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Conduct regular assessments of network performance and capacity, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and updates to management and key stakeholders, including the PMO.
  • Manage organizational compliance with Leidos policies and procedures.

  • Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Previous experience working with federal government or military customers
  • At Leidos, we don't want someone who "fits the mold"-we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, "what's next?" before the dust settles on "what's now."

If you're already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2... good. You'll fit right in.
