Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Program Director to lead clinical services at a residential treatment facility dedicated to adolescents. Program Director Requirements & Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required.
  • Current and active clinical licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist) in the state of Virginia.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience providing clinical services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with adolescents in a residential or acute care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and adolescent development.
  • Proficient in clinical documentation, EMR systems, and compliance standards.
  • Program Director Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with Joint Commission accreditation and Department of Behavioral Health regulations.
  • Certification or training in trauma-focused CBT, DBT, or other adolescent treatment modalities.
  • Experience with family therapy and systems-based approaches.
  • Program Director Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a multidisciplinary team of therapists, case managers, and behavioral staff.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, execution, and evaluation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Ensure clinical programming aligns with best practices in adolescent mental health and trauma-informed care.
  • Conduct regular clinical supervision and staff performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting bodies regulations, including documentation standards.
  • Facilitate and participate in case conferences, family meetings, and staff training sessions.
  • Review and approve treatment plans, discharge summaries, and timely clinical documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide clinical guidance during high-risk situations.
  • Serve as a liaison with families, external providers, school personnel, and referral sources.
  • Analyze clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
