Role Overview:

We are currently looking for an experienced Controller with a strong background in working with General Contractors. This pivotal position demands a comprehensive understanding of accounting operations in the construction sector, emphasizing job cost accounting and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead corporate accounting operations, including job cost tracking, Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, backlog analysis, and preparation of financial reports.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes efficiently.
• Collaborate with project managers and executive leadership to deliver real-time financial insights and strategic recommendations.
• Ensure the integrity and compliance of accounting systems and internal controls.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a Controller role within a General Contractor setting is mandatory.
• Proficiency in job cost accounting and familiarity with WIP, backlog, and other construction financial metrics.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and construction-specific accounting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an accounting team effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Procore and Sage software integration.
• CPA certification is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
