Job Summary :
Provide direct patient care within the Emergency Department while effectively communicating with patients, families, medical staff, and departmental personnel. Carry out physician and nursing staff instructions and manage clerical responsibilities such as answering phones, relaying messages, maintaining records, and directing visitors. Assist with patient care and supply orders as needed.
Essential Functions :
- Communicate clearly and professionally with charge nurses, colleagues, and physicians.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure a collaborative approach to patient care.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory promptly.
- Order and manage supplies, supporting cost containment through careful ordering and conservation.
- Maintain flexibility, organization, and composure in high-pressure situations.
- Treat patients and their families with respect, dignity, and empathy.
- Provide clear explanations and verbal reassurance to patients and families as necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements :
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.Active state Nursing Assistant license or EMT certification is mandatory.Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or EMT is required.Preferred : At least one year of experience working in an Emergency Department setting.Professional Requirements :
