Position Summary Responsible for tasks in relation to receiving and / or replenishing pet food and accessory products utilizing RF scanner. Separate, put away and ensure accurate inventory of product. Rotate product that has expiration dates. Responsible for maintaining accuracy while receiving and replenishing. Expected to be able to perform all aspects of the job as described below in addition to the duties of Warehouse Associate 1 and Warehouse Associate 2. Areas of Responsibilities
- Inspect merchandise to ensure only quality product is used to complete the order.
- Accurately review counts of all incoming shipments. Record shortages and reject damaged items.
- Receive incoming goods by unloading trucks and shipping containers.
- Assist the inventory department in completing cycle counts, as needed.
- Meet production, quality, and accuracy levels as established by business unit. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
Receive food and / or accessory products and put away completely and accurately. Move items from overstock areas to picking locations.Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work extended hours, as required by operational needs.Flexibility to work in other areas and departments, as needed. Must be able to cross train in other departmental areas.Maintain a clean workplace to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents. Follow all food safety policies and procedures including performing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments and related activities as directed.Promote a safe work environment by following facility and company safety guidelines. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Ability to effectively communicate with manager and co-workers. Ability to comprehend and carryout simple instructions.Safely operate and become certified in use of electric pallet jack, walk-rider, forklift and / or other required equipment.Education and Experience
Able to perform and meet qualifications for Warehouse Associate 1 and Warehouse Associate 2.2 or more years related warehouse experience, preferred.Previous forklift certification and RF scanner experience, preferred.Ability to count and perform basic math.Physical Demands
Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.Working Conditions
The warehouse is a non-climate-controlled facility. The outside temperature generally reflects the inside temperature with little air circulation. Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to dust.Must be able to wear safety glasses, safety vest and any other personal protective equipment as required for the facility / work area (i.e., gloves, safety shoes).This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned from time to time.
