Human Resources Specialist
Under the direction of a Human Resources Specialist 2, the Human Resources Specialist 1 will provide a full range of human resources services related to Staffing, Recruitment and Performance Management. Disciplinary matters, administrative investigations, and other employee relations issues, as well as provide contract interpretation, and personnel administration.
Duties include :

Minimum qualifications :
COMPETITIVE : Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the Current Civil Service Eligible List, Professional Careers Opportunity (PCO) or Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT). Appointment may be made at the traineeship level.
OPEN COMPETITIVE :
Human Resources Specialist Trainee 1, NS (equivalent to SG-14) : A bachelor's or higher degree.
Human Resources Specialist Trainee 2, NS (equivalent to SG-16) : A bachelor's or higher degree AND
Either 1. One year of professional human resources experience OR 2. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a field related to the position being filled.
Human Resources Specialist 1, SG-18 : A bachelor's or higher degree AND
Either 1. Two years of professional human resources experience OR 2. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a field related to the position being filled
REASSIGNMENT : Current Office for People with Developmental Disabilities employee with one year of permanent competitive or 55b / c service as a Human Resources Specialist 1.
70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS : For 70.1 transfer to a Human Resources Specialist 1, salary grade (SG)-18, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55 B / C service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-16 or above.
For 70.1 transfer to a Human Resources Trainee 2, salary grade (SG)-16, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55 B / C service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-14 or above.
For 70.1 transfer to a Human Resources Trainee 1, salary grade (SG)-14, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55 B / C service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-12 or above.

55 B / C QUALIFICATIONS : Possess the minimum qualifications for this title as established by the Department of Civil Service and listed on the most recent exam announcement. Meet the applicable minimal mental and / or physical requirements for the job (with a reasonable accommodation, if necessary). Have a current Eligibility Letter from the NYS Department of Civil Service, and be able to provide it to the Human Resources Office upon request.
